Kanwal’s Healthy Corner: Honey Glazed Salmon

With the weather getting warmer, everyone is trying to get in shape for the season. With this comes healthy eating and exercise. Last night, I came up with a wonderful recipe for a light Honey Glazed Salmon. Salmon is fortified with a healthy dose of omega 3’s, which helps keep your metabolism up and running. Pair this salmon with some fiber-filled brown rice and a side of veggies and you’ve got yourself a great dinner. I hope you enjoy my recipe below for a pan seared Honey Glazed Salmon!

Ingredients:

¾ lb. of salmon
1/4c, honey
1/3c, light sodium soy sauce
3TB., Hoisin sauce
2tsp., ginger powder or fresh grated ginger
1TB., freshly cracked black pepper

Preparation:

Place all ingredients except for salmon in a small sauce pan and gently heat and stir. Once hot, remove from heat and set aside. Place a sauté pan on medium heat and sear the salmon on both sides. Cook until done. Plate and generously drizzle sauce on top.
